got any info about swapping a V8 into 2001 sport?

Good to join you all in explorer world.
I have a 2001 explorer sport and am thinking about swapping in a 4.6 V8. Does anyone know anybody that's done this, or do you know where I can get some info on any conversion kits that might exist?

I looked into swapping the 5.0 into my Sport, and from what I've been told its impossible as we have smaller engine bays than the 4 doors. It's also a huge money pit and constant source of torment and troubles.

I never heard that the engine bays were smaller.

it is easier than the commonly done 5.0 into 91-94 swap.

if you can find a good donor vehicle it will be very simple

whoa reread.

the 4.6 is more than a bit tougher.

it too can be done though. a local guy here did it into a ranger (i have pics if you want to see it)

just go with the 5.0

I might be mistaken, I thought I heard that the 2 doors had smaller bays and that's why Ford never put the V8 in them. My engine bay is cramped enough with just the 4.0 in it, I'd hate to imagine it with a 5.0...
