I have started changing the oil myself, but need to lubricate any fittings that need lubricating. How long can I go without greasing anything and how many of you do-it-yourselfers grease your vehicals?

There is nothing like a well greased ball joint or tie rod :)

I break out the grease gun every 6000 miles.

I don't believe there are any grease fittings on my X. I can't remember if they changed over to get rid of the grease fittings in 97 or 98.

I own a 98 XLT with 85K on it. I've crawled around it pretty good and never found a grease fitting. I think it is part of Ford's new policy to get rid of grease fittings. Go figure.

I know for a fact my 96 has none.

Yup my 97 didn't have any till I replaced most of my suspension parts with ones that have grease fittings. I guess it's Ford wants us to walk into a parts store bent over walking in backwards. I strongly suggest you change atleast your lower ball joints to ones with grease fittings, you'll get more life out of it.
