Whenever I start my car, it emits black smoke from the exhaust for about 30 seconds before normalizing.
At times I have a difficult start, the engine finally starts with a loud popping sound from the exhaust and emission of black smoke.

Generally black smoke from exhaust means excessive fuel being burnt in the combustion chamber.
