Hello forum! Have a 2.3 with a recently replaced transmission. Strange grinding noise when the engine drops rpm. Happens while parked and when driving regardless of boost. Any clues as to what may be causing it? Ive never run into any issues like this before on any car. below is a video i took of the noise under the drivers door. Please help

Its hard to tell from that video.

If the work was recently done I would obviously bring it back to whomever did the transmission replacement.

My first guess was something loose in the exhaust but it could also be something related to the transmission. How does it drive?

Drives as it should. Goes into boost and its quiet as long as the gas pedal is being pressed a little. Work was done last year. Trans is only 10k miles old. Had the pcm reflashed by the dealership and im suspecting they screwed the car somehow. They even "did the rear toe link replacement" but all the suspension looks old and alignment was way off when we got the car back.

Welcome to the Forum.
The rear-toe link replacement called for the vehicle to be realigned as well. Looks like they may have only done half the job.
