I have an 02 Eddie with the 4.6L engine. I'm not exactly sure what transmission it has. Whatever one they put in it in 2002. The truck has about 50,000 miles on it. I've noticed that when it shifts from 1-2 and 2-3, it seems a bit harsh on the shifting. Also, there is a noticeable delay in the shift. However, if I accelerate hard from a stop, I don't notice the hard shifting or the delay. Any ideas on what the issue could be or other things I could check for? I've read through some of the stickies on this board, but I'm still a bit confused. Somebody point me in the right direction please! :D

Usually the trans will raise the line pressure when a slipping condition is sensed causing hard shifting. I would say your solenoid pack is going bad.

I've seen that mentioned a couple other times here. Where exactly is it, how much is it, and what's involved in replacing it?
