Hey everyone.

I am having a very peculiar problem with my Explorer 2000 SOHC. I've been noticing this problem since last night. Whenever I push the accelerator all the way down for a sudden acceleration (like red light turns green and I just hit it hard) the motor just shuts off. I can easily turn the car back on but this has happened twice to me already and it freaks me out it could be another bigger problem or that when I need an acceleration like this the car just dies on me. If I let go of the brake for a second and then slowly accelerate the car doesn't give me any problems.

Any idea of what could be causing it? I am pretty sure there must be thousand causes but I didn't know the exact search terms to look for a similar thread so excuse me if this has been answered before.

Thanks for any potential help!

fuel filter located under the drivers door on the frame - if 1st time doing will need the quick connect 'fuel/ac line' tool find most all the automotive sections of stores - 2 quick clamps and that 3/8" quick wrench will remove the old filter - install new filter - WATCH the direction of the arrow - had factory installed filter years ago - they installed it backwards - GO FIGURE - and in less then an hour (1st time doing) shorter in the future (do my filter once a year -
