OK.........here's one for the books. I have an '04 XLT with a 4 liter that started what eventually was to be the balancer squeal I've read about. I ordered a dorman for an '04 but when I recieved it the thing looked nothing like what was on the vehicle. There was a pressed on "cage" that looked to be used for a timing/sensing function. The one on the motor was "splined"/grooved as would be found on an '02 and earlier model. I reordered an earlier model balancer and all dimensions match BUT the OEM has a closed face and a loose "ring" inside, the new one has no ring or closed face. Will this new one work and is the OEM truly from an '04???????
