has anybody fitted 16-17" YJ/JK wheels with success?

In the market for tires, and have found more than one ad on CL that had 04-05 Rubicon wheels with slightly used MTR 245/45/16 or 255/75/17 tires already mounted for roughly the same price as getting new tires. I know the bolt pattern is the same at 5 x4.5" but does anybody know if the offset will clear or if the hub diameter is different between the 2? Havent seen any 3rd gens on here with J**p wheels so wasnt sure if it was worth a shot or not.

nevermind, I think I found a couple pics of a redfire 3rd gen with gunmetal rubicon wheels, looks like they stick out a bit more than I would like, Mods you can delete this thread if you like, found the answer I was looking for:roll:

ive searched the forum and cant seem to find the pics you are referring to...ive wanted to stick some Jeep wheels on my X but cannot get a straight answer on if they will fit or not

im assuming they do since you found the answer to your question but can you post the pics and if there was any modification done to get them to fit?
