I need some opinions. I've always wanted to replace the original Ford grill that goes on the front of my 92' explorer radiator with the billet style. I've seen it before in performance part's catalog at a pretty high price. Now I see it in JC whitney's website for $39.95. I'm just not sure from the picture (its on a f-150) if it is exactly what I'm looking for. Like the one that PP has. Check out the link and give me your opinions, especially if you have purchased either one.

Thanks in advance,
Robert

If I'm not mistaken that is a grill cover, not a replacement. It's like a flap that goes over the front of the grill to restrict cold air and allow the truck to warm up faster. I'd check into that a bit more first..

goober is right. The product your looking at just snaps into your existing grill. I was thinking about getting one and painting it the same color as my car.

i got one

i got one of those but i didn't get the cold front, i just got the screen front. the cold front is just for use in the winter time. the screen front u can keep in your grille year around. i painted mine with a chrome spray paint to match the grille. it comes in a flat black and u can paint it to match your vehicle or whatever.

hope this helps

Where did you get that screen front? Does it restrict air flow at all? Its really hot here and restricting air would be bad... but I think its kinda ugly right now... Anyways.. anyone have the billet grill on 94 and earlier explorers? How does it look compared to the original grill? The one on PP I thought looked funny... but that might just be me... also... anybody else make replacement grills for the explorer 91-94 explorer?

Nick

i got it here

i got it at a local 4x shop here in town. it's a lund product and cost 40 bucks. i get a lot of compliments on it. i did cut a notch in it so i can open my hood if i need. if i didn't do that i would have to take the top screen off every time i got under the hood.

One thing I noticed is that you lose your ford logo... I like my ford logo! :)
