Has anyone done a v8 swap w/a 91 sport 2 wheeel drive?

Hey people,
I am going to try w/a friend,to place a 97 5.0v8 in my 91 sport. Actually, the project has been attempted by someone who has had my truck for 2 years. I recently took it back and took it to a hotrod shop. After looking at it and seeing what the 1st guy did to it, the hotrod shop says it could run anywhere from $2k-$6k!

I purchased a new cpu and wiring harness from Ford Motorsports. The 1st guy cut wires,mounted the engine mounts incorrectly,took my GT40 heads off for some off of a T-Bird so that the headers would fit. But in doing so,I can't steer the truck because they are hitting up against the steering linkage...The list goes on!

I was just hoping that someone out there has done this before and can walk us thru step by step. I don't have 6 grand right now,but I do want to drive my X,w/my V8 some day soon. If anyone has done this or knows of someone who has ...please turn me on to them.

Do a search on here for V8 swaps in Sports and you'll find plenty of info. Some members have done it and others are still in the process.

It's not easy, but damn, your telling me that shop had it for two years and couldn't finish it???? I'd be seriously pissed off if they had my truck that long and couldn't finish it in that amount of time and especially not do it correctly

Most of the guys on here did the work themselves and take about a year or so depending on funds, time etc.

Kick that previous shop guy in the cajones for screwing up your truck for over 2yrs.

I KNOW YOU'RE RIGHT! I SHOULD'VE TAKEN IT A LONG TIME AGO! BUT,THE ONLY THING IS THAT HE NEVER CHARGED ME. SO,I DON"T THINK I CAN SUE OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. THANKS FOR THE SPEEDY REPLY TOO! MY PARTNER AND I WILL BE WORKING ON IT ON THE WEEKENDS AND HE HAS ALOT OF EXPERIENCE WORKING ON SUCH PROJECTS. SO,WISH US GOOD LUCK.
