So we all know about the police effect, where cars don't speed or want to stay in front of a car that looks like a police car. People also don't seem to make eye contact with me anymore lol. But the other day, I went to a store at night, and there was a group of people just standing eyeing my car. They didn't look like they were up to any good, so I decided just to leave and go to a different store.

Who knows if they would have done anything at all, but with police having a bad light in the media right now, it made me think it's not worth chancing. Have any of you ever had your retired police car vandalized? I can imagine crown vics used to get targeted, but now I'm guessing it our lovely explorers being targeted.

Also, I am new to the forum, sorry if something like this was posted before! I tried searching but didn't find something to similar.

I have never had anything happen to mine in the 3.5 years that I've owned it, but I intentionally do not drive or park in certain areas out of concern that something might happen to my FPIU in terms of being vandalized. If I have a choice and am going to a city with someone, I ask to drive their car to that spot and I make it up with another trip.

Interesting topic. I've had mine for 2.5 years, but have encountered no hostility. That's probably because it's about as unmarked as unmarked gets. My Taurus, on the other hand, at least has the "Police Interceptor" emblem on the back, but I can't say I've had any issue with that car either in nearly 2 years. If anything, people comment on the color (Vermillion Red).

Nor do I notice too many people getting out of my way or driving more carefully around me.
