I've been looking to get something to replace the X and have been told that I can't remove the stock radio from most newer trucks because it controls other things like the security system, door locks and other stuff. Plus the new truck may have DVD naviagation so I don't want to mess with that.
So what if I took the stock system, left the factory HU in place and front speakers in place (in case the DVD naviagation uses them) and removed the rear speakers. Then installed my aftermarket HU in another spot, put the aftermarket front speakers into kickpanels, aftermarket rear speakers into the stock location, sub and amps in the cargo area.
That should work right? the cars brain will think everything is okay and I will have my aftermarket stereo. If there is a better way let me know.
Thanks (if it matters I want a 2005 pathfinder but have to test drive still)
