I was getting into my explorer the other day and noticed a huge puddle of antifreeze leaking out of the back of the motor. I have narrowed it down to either a freeze plug or head gasket. I am planning on taking it to a mechanic and just saying fix the damn thing. I guess the exploder finally exploded!

WAIT!!!

If you only knew the 'can of worms' your faced with.
Do not just say "Here...Fix it". It might be very easy to fix yourself. {if you're rich...please ignore..}

There are MANY reasons this could happen. How bad are you loosing coolant? Can you see where the leak is coming from? Can you do a pressure test on the coolant system?

Usually the anitfreeze comes from the lower intake manifold gasket. I had mine replaced at a shop and it ran about $600. The only part outside of new antifreeze was a gasket. The rest was labor.
