Ford quoted me 6 hours labor to replace one head. I decided to have them do both since it would be all apart. The only extra labor to replace the other side would be to take off the other header and the alt. bracket. For that they are charging me 11 hrs! Am I missing something?

If I remember correctly, book time (what the book says it should take) is 11 hours (on a 1st generation at least).. Which is what they are charging you...

Some places charge book time, others what it actually takes. Sometimes book time is good, if they run into something bad (like a frozen bolt) you don't get charged extra...

Thanks for the info. I do know it took him a bit longer. They quoted me 1200 to replace one head so I bought a SET of new heads and rocker assemblies for the 450 they wanted for one head. Then I dropped the ex off at night and they were supposed to call me first with a new quote. They didn't, So I was a bit shocked at the 1100 dollar bill they just called with. I might get it down a little though, One reson he gave me was that they had to assemble the heads, I told him they were complete heads already and he said the new rockers but they had to come off anyway whether I used new ones or the old.
