i need some help! would like to know what you guys would recommend to do next with performance mods. i already have the flowmast 50 series SUV dual exhaust setup, and a jet performance chip. What should i do next ...headers,intake,MAF,TB etc. i have roughly 1000.00 to spend. oh by the way its a 99 sport with the 4.0 SOCH. and if i do install headers, will i loose any back pressure and will it change the way my exhaust sounds any.

Headers would probably only be helpful on a SOHC if you had a forced induction. I'm not sure if there are even any made for the SOHC. I don't remember if EE came out with them or not.

Also, don't double post.

Since you opened up the exhaust you need to open up the intake.
Second gen maf is big enough for a naturally aspirated vehicle.
Go KKM or K&N intake, and then a BBK throttle body. 66mm I believe

Still got 500 left to play hmm......

Definately do some sort of air filter mod.

The stock tb is 65 mm.

I hope the JET chip is working for you. IMO JET sucks and I would go with Apten. But if it works....

So after the air filter mod I'd use the money for audio, suspension, tires, or save it.

Or you could get some head/valve work done....... hmmm
anybody got recommendations in this area

Go for the KKM, it's a great product for less than half the price of the K&N. No need for the tb on a SOHC. The tb spacer is worthless. The MAF would be next after the intake.

so no one recommened headers?? i was already planning on getting the K&N intake along with the BBK throttle body. i was just thinking that the headers would make my 4.0 sound better along with added performance.

COME ON WITH THE DOUBLE POSTS!!!! STOP THE INSANITY

see if Headman makes headers for your truck... check Summit Racing

I bought mine from them, I think
:D

snafu4u2s, See my post above...

I recommend the Mac Intake $149.95 for your next upgrade. It will make a noticable difference on your V6 SOHC. The next step would be the Pro-M 75mm Mass Air Sensor $224.95.

There is no throttle body upgrade available at this time. The BBK is strictly for the V6 OHV.

The JET chip is actualy quit effective. We have had success with the JET. The chip will perform even better with the other upgrades.

There are no headers available for the 99 V6 SOHC per say. We do have JBA Headers that will bolt up to your engine, but the head pipes won't connect. You would have to have the head pipes fabricated. I have not heard of anyone trying this yet. But I am sure somebody will try it soon enough. The gains from headers is not huge, but noticable. The gains slow down after you do the intake. The headers & the Pro-M still offers a net gain in horsepower and that is what we are looking for.

The Mac Intake is one of the best power upgrades available.
The picture shows the Mac Intake with the Pro-M 75mm Mass Air Sensor.
