Hey all,

Just been reading (rare occaision, please note the date). Anyway, tinking about a couple of thigs, sort of interrelated. I've got a '98 XLT SOHC, with KKM filetr and a straight through cat-back exhaust.
In these readings of mine, I read (funnily enough) that headers and extractors would reduce under bonnet temperatures if they were ceramic coated. This would aid the open air nature of the filter charger, and should theoretically increase engine perfomance. Is this correct?
Also, has anyone actually done a full exhaust system for a SOHC? I was going to go headers and cat back at once, but ran out of money. I'm going back to get the headers later, but was wondering if they're worth it, for the theoretical benefits described above.
On an unrelated note, you guys in the States must have really high expectations of you cars. In Australia, there are only a handfull of stock cars that would be faster than the SOHC Explorer (the only one we get). It's the fastest 4x4 after the Jeep Cherokee 4.0 and Daewoo (nee Ssang Yong) Musso - do you get that over there?
Anyway, with the mods I've done to mine, it's arguably one of the quickest automatics out there...beats most family sedans and a few hot coupes.

Oh well...I guess that's what we get for having a national spped limit of 60mph.

Stay funky,
BK
