Headlight issue - Auto Lights only

After looking through old postings my problem seems to be the opposite of what I find in my search results

Headlights and foglights standard and brights do not work with the rotary switch (parking, tail ect all work) however the automatic lights work fine as soon as it gets dark the lights come on and all is good.

I don’t know how long this has been going on but after ignoring a similar issue for several months on my Charger I ended up with no lights at all in a worst case situation, a lesson that I do not wish to relearn.

My first thoughts are a bad switch or relay, but I read things about ground problems so Im hesitant to start throwing parts at the condition.

Any thoughts or posts that I have overlooked are very much appreciated.

don't throw money at parts... throw it at a meter and testing your switch... then if its bad you can throw money at a switch with more certainty...
