been searching the site for advice for awhile now but with no luck so I will ask a question. I own a 2007 Eddie Bauer 4.6L Explorer and lately, there has been two issues that have risen. First off whenever I turn the heater or ac blower up there is a terrible squeeling noise coming from under the passenger side dash, the more you turn up the fan speed the louder the squeel, and if you crank it all the way up and then turn on the full vehicle air flow button, whew! drives you nuts. What could be the problem? As for the second problem, occasionaly the driver airbag light will come on when driving, not all the time, just once in awhile you will be driving along then all of a sudden the airbag light will come on and stay on till you turn the car off. Now this is the light by the Speedo, not the passenger warning light? any ideas? any help would be fantastic as both these issues are making me a little crazy!!!

heater/ac fan noise???? another one...

My 2006 EB just started making a noise from the blower fan, sounds like it's coming from the passenger side. Like the original post, the higher the fan setting, the louder the noise is (and subsequently more annoying). Any suggestions on what could be the issue and does a repair require the removal of the whole dash?

Any feedback/suggestions would be much appreciated.

Well, I eventually did figure out the noise that plagued me. Pulled the blower fan out under the passenger side dash (easy to pull it out) reached up in the dash and found a leaf pressed into the plastic mesh guard. The noise was the leaf whistling when the fan would blow thus the higher the blower was turned up the more noise. So my suggestion would be to pull out that blower and reach up in there, maybe not the problem but its an easy check to see if that could be it. Good Luck!

Sounds like a good place to start, I'll give it a shot. Thank you!

I'm having the a/c fan whining problem. Started the other day while I was in the automatic car wash. I'll pull the fan and see if I find anything I guess. Any tips on removal or is it pretty straightforward?
