My heat and AC has always worked perfectly fine since I purchased this truck, the V6 03 Escape, 130K. We've had some very cold weather the last few weeks especially, single digits, and so naturally, my trucks heat has started to not be very warm, regardless of what speed I have blower on, and despite having the temperature all the way to the warmest temp. What are the most common things I'd need to have checked & in what order? Price points would be awesome, but I'll appreciative of any suggestions.

You almost surely are low on coolant or have an air bubble . When stone cold pull the radiator cap and fill it. Add fluid to the reservoir to the cold line. I don’t know if there are any tricks to getting the air out of an Escape, I never had any issues with mine.
