Height after TT?

Hey!

I've had some problems with the front left ball joints so ive been changing the TT up and down several times, now im all confused what the height was..

So I measuerd the length of the bolt, and i got exactly 2cm which is 0,8 inch




This is how i measued, any good way to find out my exact height? or if any of you could measure and tell me? any tips? thanks


P.S. What I want is 1,5 inch lift from the TT..

When I did mine, I measured from the ground to the top arch on the rear fenders. Then I just made the front fenders match that.

x3 but make sure not to raise the front end more then 2 inches otherwise you will run into issues.
 






thanks for your replies but as i wrote, ive been changing the height several times and cannot measure from the ground up to a certain point, thats useless because i dont have the point of origin..

matching the rear thats a good idea but that will work if the car originally is a 100% match, front and rear.. also i'll need a paved and level surface..

No. The that will not account for sag in the suspension. My driver's side bolt ended up being all the way in and the pass side about a 1/4 inch from it. Is it that hard to find level ground, LOL.
 






one torsion bar is longer than the other, so, the bolts could be different.

when you started you should have measured the fenders or crossmember off the ground

every Explorer is a bit different so getting this measurement from somebody else is a tough choice,even my 2 Explorers measured different right from the get go as one was a 96 the other a 99,

to get the stock back measure the ride height like this,

Where does everybody measure to know they gained 2 inches?
per Chiltons, to measure ride height, you take a measurement from the center of the lower control arm bushing to the ground (measurement A) and a measurement from the lowest part of the knuckle to the ground (measurement B) then take A - B = ride height
now, stock ride height (per Chiltons) is around 4.2-4.4" (I believe?) for a NON-air suspension.

Torsion twist as stated in many threads is hard on cv joints if taken too far, but i have never so far heard of it causing ball joint problems.
In fact i have been running the equivalent of the 1.75 inches of tt on the front of mine for a while, and bumping the suspension fairly well on fast trails and rocky roads and washes with no ball joint issues,,

the thing is i have air springs, rear with the compressor.. that makes the measurement of the rear compared to the front a bit messy..
