I am Todd, and I am new to the list, and to be honest, to the Ford community also. I own a 1998 Ford Explorer Sport XLT 4 X 4. I loved it until the 5R55E tranny died on me. lol. Don't fret though, I'm using it as a school project to rebuild it. I loved driving this thing when it worked. I like the 4.0 ltr motor too. It seems really strong for what it is.

The 4.0 Explorer tranny is VERY weak. You can read up about them every where on here! But welcome!

I just saw something I wanted to warn about, DO NOT USE K&N air filters. They let more dirt through becuase of thier design. I just found this out from my teacher and my mechanic also said this is true. It lets more air in, yes, but more dirt into the engine too. I was running one in my 96 Sunfire, but yesterday it blew up on me. It was fine until I put one in. It took about 11,000 miles to kill a brand new motor. Keep it in if you want, this is just a friendly warning, nothing more.
