I just joined. I have a stock 1994 XLT with 95,000 miles. I bought it in 1997 with 32,000 miles on it. I drove a company car for many years and the wife had her mini-van (2001 Windstar), so the Exp wasn't driven a lot. I just retired and took over the maintenance of my vehicles. Never been much of a car guy since my 20's, but with so many You-tube videos and this forum, it's been easy to pick it up. I learned how to access the EEC codes here, changed pads and rotors, changed the radiator, replaced many steel lines, and located a couple of vacuum leaks. Only problem, I've had with this auto is the hard changing between trans gears. The engine revs high before changing from first to second and then immediately goes to 3rd and 4th.
I've joined in search of power window regulator secrets! So far, I have had success with regulator motor repair and scissor type regulators, but now am searching for cable style regulator tips. I have one rivet left to remove before separating the driver side rear door glass from the reg. Others say they drill out the rivets, but this last one will need a 5-6 inch bit before it can be reached! Wish me luck!
