well the ratcheting sound happens only every now and then and it is coming from the t case im wondering if any one has rebuilt their t case and about how much it cost and where you got the parts just rebuilt the trans 20000 ago :us:

Not sure what you mean by a ratcheting noise but if you mean the transfer case is putting itself into FWD unexpectedly, you might check out one of your driveline sensors. I had one go bad on my 97 and it was an SOB to chase down because it was intermittent. I finally found a small nick in one of the wires to the front driveline sensor that must have been shorting to the case. Replaced it and all is back to normal. I had to go to the dealer for the part and my recollection is it was about $40-$50. I probably could have just put some shrink tube or electrical tape on the old one to repair the nick in the insulation but it was a bit of a pain to get at it and I decided I only wanted to do it ONCE!
