Hello to all! I'm Joe and live in Cleveland, Ohio. You guys saved my rear-end once before on a door ajar problem. Put up with that thing for awhile before I finally decided to do something about it. Found this site, found the issue discussed and went straight to the problem. Had it fixed in a half hour. So for that I want to say THANK YOU! Unfortunately I now have another problem.... this one a lot more serious. Vehicle will not start. I'm gonna do a search to see what info is available and then maybe start a thread if no luck.

Have a nice day!

hey joe, welcome to the forum.... im in medina. not to far away. 25 mins down 71... well depending where at in cleveland....

tons of info on here about no start problems. could be pats related, fuel related, ect..... if you started a thread about the problem post a link and ill take a look at your specific problem and see if i can help ya out at all. if you have not started a thread, post here about your situation and we can go from there after i get back from dinner.

Thank you! And thanks for being so quick in offering your help . Here's the link http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=354448 but I finally did get it to start. This probably shouldn't have anything to do with it but the last two weeks it hasn't been driven that much. This totally cut me off guard because it's been starting and running like a champ ever since I've owned it. As you will see by clicking on the link I kind of freaked out a bit :D

Welcome aboard!! :salute:

Hey joe. Glad you got it started and sorry i didnt get back to you yesterday, took the family out for dinner and my 7yr old and myself ended up w/food poisoning. It was painful, first time ever going thru something like that and last time i will ever go to that place..

As 2000streetrod mentioned, you have a problem that needs addressed. It could be a sticking gas pedal that is basically flooding the engine while not running(since you mentioned a strong gas smell). Could be a leaky fuel injector that is flooding the engine out. Could be multiple things, those are just the ones that popped into my head right away after reading your thread.

Just keep a eye, well nose on that gas smell.. and if you need a hand further in addressing the problem shoot me a message and ill see what i can do to help you out.

No problem at all. Sorry to hear about the food poisoning and know what you mean about not going back again. I've had a bad experience about 25yrs ago eating a gyro... that was the last time I ate one.

The Mountaineer has been starting and running like nothing ever happened. The gas smell after the second time trying to start it was probably caused by me. So who knows. I will be keeping a closer eye on it for sure, it's the only vehicle I have and can't afford to be without it for too long. Thanks again!
