Hi and welcome to the forum.
You should have the heads checked for warpage while they are off, maybe have them Magnafluxed. Earlier model heads had a problem with cracking and warping but it's not as common with the 93/94 models. The Ford "Cologne" V6's also had a problem with getting enough oil to the top end so you may also want to check/replace lifters and pushrods. The rockers are pretty sturdy but you may want to replace them also, just as "insurance".

welcome

Head Gaskets

With 225 thousand miles, and buying the vehicle for 200 bucks replace the engine. You do the gaskets and maybe you get lucky and not have any other problems. Who knows until you dive into it.

Welcome... Great ride. My theory is its not your DD. Drop a new old motor in it., and build it and ENJOY.

yeah man, go grab another 4.0 ohv from a 93/94 model and throw it in there. for the amount of money you'll spend fixing this motor, you can be riding out in a weekend.

if these motors are taken care of, and properly maintained, they'll go the distance. i know of at least 10 people with first generation over 300k, i myself am around 266k on original equipment (save alternator).

if you have a pullpart nearby, i recommend there. you can get a warranty in case anything in the engine doesn't work right, or is blown you can just exchange it.

good luck
