I'm looking into swapping an Explorer V8 into my 06 XLT Ranger. Got plenty of good info for the swap from RangerPowerSports.com but I figure this will be a good place for info as well.
I will especially be coming here for performance help, because there will obviously be more expo V8 knowledge here. Before I'd swap it in, I would want to freshen up the engine I find, which will no doubt be high mileage. I would want to probably do cam, lifters, rockers, maybe even heads, anything short of forced induction (for now anyway). I'm not really sure what's available and I'm not really sure about how these engines work compared to the SBC which I have experience with, and also not sure as much about the whole OHC setup. Are Expo V8s OHC or OHV? anyway, I'll check out the forum and browse around for info.
