The Pioneer head unit is nice. Hard to go wrong there, plus that's a better price than retail and you skip the sales tax.

The sub is good too, but you can find it for much less elsewhere. Those polk dB subs are frequently on ebay for well under $50 new.

I would NOT ever advise using anything Audiovox, that amp is total crap. It puts out maybe 10-20 watts if you look at the fine print on the box. Pioneer makes a nice sub amp for $100. Or even better get it online for less.

Crutchfield has an Orion 12" sub for $39.99:

The Pioneer 12" is on sale for $49.99:

Unfortunately they sell the DEH-1100MP for $99.99, their $79.99 Pioneer unit is the DEH-11E, which doesn't play MP3's recorded onto CD's.

If you get the head unit and sub through Crutchfield, that should put you over $129 which gets you free shipping. You might be able to get better deals on ebay or finding something local on Craigslist, though. Another benefit of used stuff is it can look worse for wear and be less likely to get stolen.

You might also consider checking out all the local walmarts. They frequently have clearance stereo stuff, I've seen the Rockford-made Lightning Audio subs and amps for cheap, along with the pre-built sub boxes for 75% off. This is probably the way I'd go on a ultra-low budget system with new stuff.

the deh 11000mp is actually 79! haha

and 12's and 10's are too big for my truck. its a single cab ranger and i dont want to sacrifice seat space for them.

but thank you alot i checked out ebay. and they has good deals on that sub!

would you happen to know of some really bassy 6x9's and some 5.5's with good mid high?

You could just replace the front speakers with whatever the stock factory size is, and throw the 6x9's in boxes. If the pre-made 6x9 boxes won't fit under or behind your seats, you can make a custom shallow box for them.

There's no need to get the 4-way 6x9's, they require a lot of power.

You can just get usual 2-way or 3-way 6x9's for less, too. 2-ways can be run off the head unit so you save the money and space rather than having to use an amp.

6x9's and the 6x8 Ford size are good for bass without a sub. Almost all 6x9's are bassy.
