Hi everyone,

I just bought a '92 Explorer and I love it!

It needs a little TLC, but with the help of this forum, I've already managed to make a few repairs. That's why I decided to join and share my experiences.

Thanks for such a great resource and look forward to participating.

Pictures

Sorry I took so long to post, but I had to REALLY clean up the vehicle before taking pictures of her.

Just to give you background, I bought it from a guy who only used it to go hunting in. All he did was keep the motor and tranny in excellent condition and didn't care about the rest of the vehicle. I wish I had taken "before" pictures to help you appreciate what it looks like now.

Well, after repairing all of the windows and most of the locks, several carpet cleanings (though I'm still not there yet), and about four hours of washing, rubbing out the oxidation, and waxing the body, here's what I have so far:

Time for another wash LOL

The interior was totally covered in mud, trash, and I think animal fur... yuch!
I initially thoughts the seats were brown...

I read that Purple Power may help to get rid of this... gonna try it this weekend.

HOW YA DOIN'?

Thanks for looking!

Holy CRAP that carpet is thrashed!

For the time spent on that one, I'd check out some new carpeting... I'm OCD about cleaning, and even I don't think I'd try to rescue that! Maybe junkyard carpets that are much more cleanable?

I'd pull them out and run them up to the quarter wash if you don't have a pressure washer.

Welcome!
