HELP... Blinker "buzzing" - Windshield wash not working

Hey, just wondering if how many people have run across this problem and what, if anything, you have done to fix it.

The problem started when the windshield washer started working intermitently. I would have to hold the knob in to even get the wipers to function once in a while. That has progressed to the point where 80% of the time I turn on the left blinker there is an annoying buzz rather than functional blinker. If I shut it off and turn it back on again it will usually work at that time. On a couple of occasions I have seen wisps of smoke coming out from the steering colomn.

Anyone have any fix tips???

Another problem I have is with the illumination of the cruise control buttons. The right side lights up fine but the left never does. Are these on seperate fuses? I haven't been able to find evidence of that if they are. Because of the size I would assume that it must be a fiber light or something rather than a bulb but if there are any ideas I would appreciate them.

i have had the buzzing too, but it happens very intermitenly(sp?), maybe 3 times a year. so i am not to worries about it. but a fix might not be a bad idea.

i have the buzzing, but it is only when i hold the blinker down and do not click it down, if you know what i mean

sounds to me like you need a new multifunction switch. autozone has them for about 50 bucks.

I'm clueless about the lights.

Mine does that too!!! it also does it when i turn the hazards on!
