My Explorer starts drives fine until it reaches temp then dies, my o2 by the cat (upstream) is greasy as he'll and my egr looks like its missing a hose lean bank 1 what do I do?

once it's warmed up it's in a closed loop so if the o2 sensor is messed up that'll cause issues with your fuel trims for sure and a messed up EGR will most likely be causing so real problems too you should be getting a CEL or some codes .

If the EGR is missing a hose then sure, you'll have a vac leak and need to figure out if it just popped off and plug it back in, or if the whole hose is missing or damaged and you need a new one.

I don't have a '96 5.0 engine so I can't tell you exactly where that hose plugs into the intake, would look around for a loose hose (not connected at one end), hoses hooked up to the intake but going nowhere or a hose nipple with nothing on it (maybe on the throttle body?), or follow attached hoses in case there's a T-junction on one where it connects.
