Hi everybody.
A year ago i bought my 04/05 V6 XLT Limited here in Brazil.
The last 5 months i've been struggling to find out why the car wont start.
After many tests with my mechanic and a lot of reading here, we found out a possible PATS problem or PCM issue.

I went to 13 Ford Dealers here trying to reprogram or update the PCM but all they said to me is that they cant support below 2008 Explorer's

Also tried many local shops but none of them can read my car.

Any of you know some service that i could send my PCM and anti theft module, keys to check, reprogramm, upgrade or even unlock?

Because my car is blocked. The fuel pump wont send fuel, the fuel injectors are locked and when we drop fuel straight to the collector the car start and runs ok, but soon as we stop putting gas it dies!

Any help or suggestion i really appreciate!

All the best

You might entertain the idea of getting a tuner that will eliminate the PATS all together.

Hello! Thanks for your reply! Could you please tell me how to get this tuner?

Hello. Thanks for your reply. Could you please let me know more info about the tuner? Do you think would be a good idea replace the PCM, two new keys and the immobilizer module? My one is 1L2T-15607-AB AND PCM Nº 5UA7-12A650-HKA

Thanks for your help.

flashing THEFT indicator?

Does the "THEFT" indicator flash rapidly when the ignition is in Run or Start compared to when it is in Off? That's usually an indication of a PATS problem.

Have you tried cleaning the crankshaft position sensor connector located near the pointer on the harmonic balancer? If the PCM does not detect the engine rotating via the crankshaft position sensor it disables the fuel pump. You might try reaching up from under the vehicle and disconnecting and reconnecting the connector a couple times to clean the contacts.

Do you have access to any type of OBD-II scanner that can read the engine rpm when the starter is cranking the engine?

Hi 2000Street Rod. Thanks for your reply.
The THEFT indicator never came on. The only flashing light is right in the middle of the dashboard by the windscreen, but it think is something to do with the alarm, it keeps flashing all the time when the car is parked.

But tomorrow i'll pass by the garage where the car is then will tell the mechanic your advice.
Thanks a lot.
