Help! I can't go past 35 MPH (possible transfer case issue).

I got a 1996 ford Explorer and it will not go pass 35mph and if i go down hill it will stall and go to wait unit it hit 10 or 15mph can anyone tell whats wrong with it.. Need to know if any trans will fit in her ples email at Heistonjrhar@aol.com thanks you

its in 2 wheel drive 30- 35.. then 4 high 20mph.. then 4 low dont know
