I've had this clanking sound in my truck for a long time now, and it seems to ge getting louder. It seems like its coming from the suspension, as it only does it when i go over bumps. BUT it does NOT do it when I'm going over bumps and I have the brakes on? There is a slight noise when the brakes are applied but I think that is a normal suspension cluck from hitting a bump. First this sound would only rear its ugly head in winter. Then after one winter it never went away. Also, it used to only do it at slower speeds, like below 40, but now it does it no matter what the speed.
Here's what I've done to the truck.
Edelbrock IAS shocks
SkyJacker leveling coils
New radius arm bushings (rubber)
New ball joints
New u-joints on the outer 2 front driveaxles
the sound has never changed after installing any of these things. Also, it sounds like its coming from the front, but its hard to tell it may do it when the back goes over bumps also. Anyone have any ideas??? Hope so its driving me NUTS! Thanks
