newbz,
I just got a Crunch V-3004 from onlinecarstereo.com for $120. The MSRP on this amp is over $350. It is a 4 channel amp that can be bridged to 250x2 RMS at 4 ohm. So far it has been great, but I've only had it for a few weeks. But it's definitely worth the money for the wattage. Plus you get free shipping over $100. Check it out for the rest of the specs. You can also check them at sounddomain.com. It looks real cool too. Good luck.

For about $100 more you could get the Rockford 500a2. I have heard this amp power 2 15's and they hit really hard. I think it is worth the extra money and I don't think you will be disappointed with it.

rockford is very decent but not what it used to be since they are now mass prduced. im gonna say this though, you get what you pay for. just keep that in mind when shopping. what do i recommend? umm, im currently using kicker amps, i am very ahppy with them and ive had then for a long time. if you want to spend some money, i say go with Xtant, Zapco, McIntosh, A/D/S or PPI. mostof which can be loaded to 1/2 ohm STABLE!! friends of mine have all used these amps and let me tell you that they are SICK!!! very pricey but woa! i also recommend soundstream or Alpine V12. use your judgement and see what best fits your application and your budget, good luck man and welcome to the addictive, expensive car audio hobby. =)

I have 2 500a2's and i think that they have to be one of the best amps i have ever owned. I have seen them selling for $299. The cool thing about Rockford is that they under rate their stuff. My birth sheets say that they put out a little over 800 watts. But it all maters on what ohm load you run them. Look at Rockford or i hear PPI also make a pretty good amp.

$200 is kindly low for a good amp with that amount of watts, A guy told me for the high end amps, you base it on dollar per wattt for example a amp pushing 500w will be in the $500 range. I don't know how true this is but is good to base it on, of course there are sales, refurbuish, online, specials etc. so you could always get them cheaper. My advise is to save $100 more and get a better amp that will last and sound better, some were already mention in this post, a few of the cheaper but good amps are MTX, Crossfire, Kicker Impulse, Pioneer and Kenwood. If you need model numbers I can help you there also.

Check out http://www.tmselectronics.com for prices on amps. They've got some Sound Stream stuff pretty cheap as well as Audiobahn and others.
