Here's the twist - there's no stock cooler on it right now: a '95 4L, 4WD, XLT. I guess it didn't come with the towing package or whatever, because there's nothing in front of the AC condenser.

My questions are these: Are there ports somewhere on the existing radiator where I can add lines to go forward to an aux. cooler? (Right now there are only the two metal lines coming from the tranny to the radiator.) If not, can I buy a radiator and stock cooler to swap in, or pull one from a junkyard? What are my options?

Thanks in advance.

those 2 hard lines are for the cooler... if you had one factory, one line would go directly to the tranny, and the other would go forward to the area in front of the ac condensor......the one on the bottom goes forward and has an inlne cooler... on the other side of that, there is another hard line that goes back to the tranny..... all you would need from a junkyard is those harlines from one with a cooler.....

Well that sounds do-able. I may try to hook something up there. Does anyone have any pictures looking down into the engine bay, or through the grill, of where the fluid lines come and go? I'd like to see what they look like on an X with a stock cooler.
Thanks.

OK, I found a '99 XLT with a stock tranny cooler to inspect. It may not be as simple as swapping fluid lines but it should be close. Maybe I can find them in a junkyard, still intact. If anyone knows for sure that it won't work, please stop me from wasting my time.
