OK I know this is ridiculous but I've tried twice now ordering a replacement hood letter for a missing E on the front of my vehicle and it is so difficult to tell the coloring online. I got one that was too black and then got this one that was too silver. I have a 2018 Ford Explorer Sport in black. The picture I'm attaching is a picture of the second fail beneath my actual letters. I asked at the dealership when I was getting some other work done and the guy was like dude, don't ask us to do it, just buy it online. He said something like, "oh and make sure it is painted" which is confusing.
I believe the "FORD" ones are only one color Black/Graphite

. After market ones have many, such as Chrome
They are not painter. We had a Body shop at a Ford Dealer ship replace ours, then the hood was replaced due to the corrosion on the leading edge. They ordered the only one they could, and installed it. Did not need to be painted. Give the parts guy the part number.
