Hello ... I live in Canada and I buy a modele xls to investigate 2002 independante suspension and a engine 4 L205hp... I desire modified suspensions to have a 3 inch or 5 inch maximum.. What you suggest me to do to have a good result (quality and look...) Which company wou suggest me for good pieces.....And i would like to have a good idea of which kind of tire you propose...
Can you give me some picture...about the same model of mine...

To my knowledge there is not a supension lift currently available for 2002 and up four door explorers.

The only way to yeild lift is with a body lift. I don't know if there is one available custom made for your model year.

Because of the independent rear suspension it is dificult for a manufacturer to engineer & design a suspension lift. There is also not enough of a demand for the lift to be profitable.

I have a 1997 that has independent front suspenion with a rear solid axle.
A suspension lift kit for mine is $1800 US so one for your 2002 would be more expensive.

thats not the only way to lift... i put in custom lifted springs on the front to level it out for about 160... yea wheel travel is limited and maybe its stiffer but it hasnt made a huge difference to me... if ur intersted reply back and ill let u kno wut i can do.... btw if u get this done u need to get an alignment and for them to adjust ur camber and toe to be in line with a modified suspension
