My car (1992 Ford Explorer 4WD automatic 4.0 w/ac) was over heating and making a small humming noise so we figured that it was the the water pump. we had replaced the thermostat about a month ago and that didn't fix the issue so we went a head and replace the water pump, radiator, fan, and bottom hose. The car isn't over heating any more but the noise has became louder,, the noise doesn't occur while in idle only when the car is being reved up or while driving and it starts instantly the car doesn't even have to be warmed up, also there is now what seems to be a grinding sound that occurs sometimes. This all started happening as soon as we did the replacements? We did put in anti freeze + water 50/50 and also added new trany fluid.any ideas on what the issue may be?? Please I really need to know how to fix this issue! Thank You

I'm not anywhere near an expert in cars, but I have a slight humming noise sometimes and my buddy said it's problem the ball bearings going out.

Could be something on your serpentine belt assembly? I know I use to have a tea-kettle type whistle and screech on my 93'. Turns out the bearings were shot on the tensioner and idler pulley.

If it happens once you start moving you may want to look at the wheel bearings.
