1995 Ford Explorer 4 dr
I have a great 1995 Ford Explorer..4 dr. I love my car and have taken very good care of it. All of sudden, things started happening. I have a "so" called mechanic helping me out. My engine is running "VERY" rough. Sometimes I feel as though I will either have to get out and push it...or that I am going to lose something if I drive on the hwy.
I took it to a professional man who owns a transmission place. He did NOT put it up on the lift....he took it for a drive with me for about 13 mins. He tells me he doesn't think it's the transmission, but a motor mount may need to be replaced. A friend of mine, who is a retired mechanic says he thinks there is something worn out and that perhaps I just need a new transmission filter. I had a used transmission put in back in 2008 from a junk yard. I honestly am somewhat afraid to drive my car in fear of losing....something. And I really don't have the money to fix it. It does leak some tranny fluid along with some oil. Seems I am adding them at least once a month. If someone can please give me some guidance...I would certainly appreciate it. Thank you so much...and Yes I am a woman...lol.

You would be better off explaining the symptoms to us, with as much detail as possible.

From what I gather:
The engine runs rough.
A motor mount may need to be replaced.
Something is worn out in the trans or it needs a filter.
Its got a used trans.

None of that really adds up to anything.
What exactly do you feel?
When do you feel it? (Idle at a light, pulling away from a light, stopping, etc.)
Does it get worse or better as the engine warms up?
Any details like these will help, since we are not there to see or feel it.
