I tried to change my oil today (for the first time), but was stopped at "Remove oil drain plug." LOL. I am a pretty strong person, but try as I might I could NOT get that drain plug off, and either the place I had it changed at last time screwed it in so tightly it got a nice cold weld (hehe) or Im trying the wrong one, I have an '03 4.6L V8. I thought it was the black black one more toward the front of the vehilce, with the drain on the side of the pan pointing towards the rear of the car, or is it the shiny metal pan with the drain on the bottom thats located further back near the middle of the vehicle? And it is counterclockwise to unscrew right? I dont know what to do, cause the things starting to strip, and I want to change my own damn oil.

you'll be fine, just go with it. If the plug releases to the left go that way, if it releases to the right go that way too. If you go to the nearest parts shop they can give you a new plg and washer for about 5 bucks. No big deal. They can also tell you if the plug is reverse threaded or not. Kepp trying, that's the most important thing.

The drain plug on your truck DOES NOT have reverse threads. Use a socket and ratchet wrench with a long handle, or put something over the handle to give you more leverage and twist it counter clockwise. I just had the same issue a few weeks ago on my exploder. I used a 12" 3/8 breaker bar on mine to crack that bolt lose. Then just unscrew it out buy hand. If you get a good bite on the bolt with the socket and put a continues hard twisting pressure on the bolt for a good 15 seconds and she should come loose.

Remember "Lefty loosey, righty tighty".
