1999 2wd Explorer
Alright i just bought a 1999 for explorer with the 4.0. I Bought a 2wd because it was a great deal.. Anyways i have a hp dana 44 that i would like to put in it. The rear believe has the 8.8 with discs, so that will work for the rear. What do i need to do to the frame to make it work? I am going to replace the tranny with either a C4 or use aa plate to use a 700R4 and install a Np205 transfer case behnid that. I basically need to know what i need to do to the frame and suspension to make it work.

I thought about doing something like this: http://www.trailmonster.com/MonsterR...ide.aspx?ID=88

Please people let me know.

Ahh you will need to cut the front center crossmember off plus other fabrication depending if you wanna go coil or leaf sprung on the D44. The tranny & transfer case combo sounds good if you plan on using the 700r4 and get a AA adapter. You may need a adapter to the motor too but not sure.

yea any other advice i am looking to do the same thing to mine...
