Help with AC problem

Well my ac lines (the ones right below the HU that go into the controls) got cut and I tried to reconnect them using a slightly bigger tubing that you can jamb the cut pieces back together inside the tubbing. I get air now but only out of the front defroster on all the options and that's it. Does anyone know anyway to fix this? Are the lines vacumized? Please help me out on this becaues for the life of me I can't figure out what to do.

Yes they are vacuum tubes and if they leak then the system defaults to the screen only. Check all your joints. BTW Ford use a plug in connector to join the tubes so just get some more and use them. Or replace the tubes.

So you suggest replacing the tubes to fix the problem?

You should be able to join them providing there are no leaks and that you have the right ones connected together.
