2002 Explorer V8 Ed Ba
Hello, I have a 2002 Eddie Bauer 4.6 V8 Explorer 4x4 and I am having a starting problem. It all started when the rear drive shaft cam loose from the end of the transfer case and tore through some wires while i was driving down the road. Had it towed to my moms house where it has been for almost two weeks not startable. I have replaced the starter, reconnected the wires and the drive shaft and it still wont start...it wont even turn over. It just clicks in the relay box under the hood. My relays are checking out good as well.

I am wandering if it may still be engaged in drive or if maybe it the computer. I dont know what else to do to get it started. I am stranded 200 miles from home and i am running out of options that I know of.

If anyone can help i would appreciate it!!

Thanks Tabatha:(

Can you remove the relay and jump a wire where the relay goes and get the starter to engage and turn the motor? If so, the problem more than likely isn't under the hood. Does the anti-theft light on the dash flash real fast when you turn the key on, if so, the anti-theft is keeping the engine from starting and the transceiver may be fried, it's the antenna around the lock-set where the key goes, not receiving the signal from the transponder in the key. I just had to replace mine, after I spent money on a starter, which by the way is the hardest starter ever to replace, those top bolts are a booger. I went nuts trying to figure out why my Explorer wouldn't start, $22 part fixed it.
