My 1996 Explorer has been leaking around the rear main seal for a while:thumbdwn: and i have taken it to the shop and they said they fixed but it was leaking a hundred times worse so we took it back and they put an actual FORD part on it instead of aftermarket, but besides that it is still leaking slightly but its not dripping any ideas wats wrong???? Also i was driving it today and i just noticed a slow speed its making a nocking noise and i can feel it through the steering wheel im thinking it may be a ball joint...any ideas????
Thanks,

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the stock 95-01 section. The seal could leak if it's not properly installed. There are 2 types of seals: plain rubber & teflon. Teflon has to be installed dry (without lubrication). A special installation tool is required to evenly press the seal into place.

Thanks man for the info i will check into wat kind they used
