I purchased a 94 explorer a couple weeks ago from the origanal owner. I wasn`t surprised to find the window sticker tucked inside the owners manual zipper case. $27,678.00. This vehicle has been garaged and religously maintained. So when i heard he wanted $2000.00 i figured it needed some work...what i found was every guys perfect stock 4x4 ready for modification.
I was thrilled to find this site because the only problem with it,the exlorer,was a fuel pump relay issue. Turns out after reading quite a few threads it was the e.e.c power relay.the previous owner dropped the gas tank and replaced the fuel pump and the problem still occurred. He said he would just relace the fuel pump relay when it wouldn`t start and be on his way. Well after i replaced it 2 times in one day enough is enough. The crazy thing was i relaced it that second time and it wouldn`t start so i removed it again and had my daughter crank it as i put another one in ...still nothing. So as i pulled it out ,without me telling her,she turned the key again and it started with the relay in my hand.to make a long story short after finding this site and spending a half hour reading several threads i came across one that mentioned the `check engine`light. If it doesn`t come on then its the computer relay.thanks guys!!!!!
