My wife & I found her Explorer Sport with 98K miles in 2015. I have since replaced the upper control arm assemblies, installed caster/camber bolt kit, lower ball joints, changed the coolant, thermostat, replaced all the hoses, installed new spark plugs, spark plug wires, & since her Sport has the SOHC 4.0 I also replaced the timing chain hydraulic tensioners. I would replace the spark plugs & plug wires, change the fluids, & check the upper & lower ball joints because the life expectancy of them is around 100K miles. If you replace the f/e parts get it aligned after you replace the parts. I also had to remove the Sport step bars because they were badly rusted, so I replaced them with ones from a 2006 Ford Ranger regular cab.
