New here hope to learn alot and contribute also, been a mechanic of one form or another since I was 8, (my personal odometer just rolled past 50. last June).
Bought my 2000 Explorer used with 75,000 miles on it, haven't had any major problems, had to replace a front hub and bearing assembly, and one of my rear shocks fell off so I replaced 'em both.
Other than that I've been very happy with the truck.
I was told to have the automatic trans reversed flushed twice a year to prevent the trans problems that seem to be prevalant in the late 90s to early 2000s models, any truth to that or is it just a crap shoot with the trannys, some fail around 80,000 miles some don't.
Anyway hello folks, I'll be lurkin' a little and postin' a lot, (soon).
Ted
