Hey all! I recently made a switch from a 2007 Mazdaspeed3 to a 98 Explorer Sport. I had financial and personal problems so had to do it.

We just bought the X and is in the shop for tuning up and personal inspection.

I'm originally from Bridgewater, NJ, but will be moving to Rochester, NY!

I plan to put in shackles, AALs, 3in body lift and 33s on the X.

One question: where can I find the AALs? I can't find them anywhere :(

You can't find an AAL for your truck because you have a monoleaf. In order to use an AAL you need to first swap in a multileaf pack from a 4 door explorer of the same generation (95-2001). This alone will net you .5-1 inch of lift and the AAL will give you another 1.5 inches or so. Welcome to the forum.

Steventadams: Thanks for the info! I will definitely look into doing that. I just would like to get rid of the rear sag and then lift it up with the 3" body lift and 33s.

Good luck! There is a write-up somewhere on the forum about switching leaf packs as well as doing the AAL. Take a look around and you'll find what you need

Welcome to Explorer Forum!
I would go for 32's. Not as hard on the transmission as 33's. After you swap the rear leif springs, I would hit the local auto parts store, (auto zone, advance auto, or o'reily auto) for your AAL's. If still no luck, you can get them at Summitracing.com and jcwhitney.com.

Is it possible to swap the transmissions? It's an auto, but I have lived with manual for a long time and I would like to stick with it.
