- '96 XLT 4x4
Hi Folks!
Good to be here. I just bought a '96 XLT 4x4 for my new 16-year old driver. $1500, 181,000 miles. I've known the owners since day one, and it's been very well taken care of.
It has a New battery, New Tires, and a New Radiator. I figure it will serve us well for the last two years of high school, and keep him safe. It's the V6 4x4 so it doesn't have lot of power.
So far, I need a few items to spruce it up a bit...
Transmission service of some sort (Pan service? Rebuild?) It's a little sluggish
Steering Wheel Cruise On/Off button pad (works, but pad just disintegrated!
Hood gas-pnumatic lifts
Any recommendations from you experts on what to do to maximize fuel economy or otherwise ensure this is up to snuff?
Can I take it to a dealer to ensure that all recalls have been performed? Will they do them even if they've been on the books for a while?
Many thanks, and I look forward to learning a lot here.
