I have a 1999 ford exp limited 2x,had my daughter take it to the shop(was making noise)shop,they told her it was a bad pulley on the bottom ?. she came home,still making the noise every time i hit the gas ?.my daughter took it back to the shop, now they say its the tension pulley?. how can they MISS that!!if that is really it ?. how can you tell if a pulley bad!. the belt on the pulleys are really tight? please help::exp:

the bearings in the pulley go bad,, take the belt off spin it by hand,,if it sounds dry ,,it's bad,,,

it's that easy,,

hey thks corkey, i watch a you tube videos looks easy,but the guy at the shop said it
would take 7 hours???? that sounds wrong!

Welcome to this forum! Check the belt. I had a similar issue years ago, and replaced a bunch of things which didn't help until I figured out that it was the belt. I didn't suspect the belt at first since it was pretty new.
